Residents now have a new way to connect, share, and discover—thanks to the launch of Murray Bridge’s first Honesty Digital Library at General Support Services Australia (GSSA).

Montana Hockley of Murray Bridge feels that the DVD library is a great idea and is handy for everyone. “You don’t have to go far or spend money to check something out,” Montana said. “That makes a big difference, especially when people might not have access to other entertainment options.”
“It's convenient and welcoming for everyone in the community - it also gives people a chance to see new things they might not have watched before,” Montana said. “Sometimes it’s hard to know what’s out there or where to find it, but with this library, it’s all laid out for you.”
“You can just browse and pick something new without any pressure, and it opens up opportunities to discover stories, learn something different, or just relax. I think it’s a really valuable resource."
Located at 6 Third Street, this unique community initiative invites everyone to “Take a DVD, leave a DVD,” creating a free and ever-growing digital library that thrives on trust, generosity, and a shared love of storytelling.
The Honesty Digital Library is open to all community members and works on a simple principle: give what you can and take what you need. Whether it’s a favourite movie, a documentary that inspired you, or a hidden gem you’d love others to discover, this is a chance to contribute to a shared collection that reflects the diverse tastes and experiences of Murray Bridge locals.

Gabrielle McKenzie, CEO of GSSA, says the idea is rooted in the organisation’s commitment to inclusiveness and connection. “This is such a simple concept, but it can have a big impact,” Gabrielle said. “We wanted to create something that brought people together without barriers. The Honesty Digital Library is accessible to everyone—and that’s what makes it special. There’s no cost, no signup, just trust and community.”
Gabrielle believes the project is already building momentum. “It’s been beautiful to see people sharing the films they love, and even more exciting to see them walk away with something new. It’s about sparking joy, starting conversations, and building bridges.”
The digital library is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, from the GSSA office and there's no red tape—just the opportunity to be part of something communal and creative. Whether you're a film buff or simply curious, this is your invitation to drop by, join in, and share the magic of movies with your community.
