“I’m grateful beyond words to be chosen and spotlighted as one of the winners to be featured for the SA Women to Watch 2024,” Ms Mackenzie said. “The response fuels my commitment to empowering women and individuals alike.”

As the founder of Genuine Support Services Australia, Gabrielle often refers to her life as a mosaic of goals and dreams, a pursuit which ignites her motivation, and fuels her desire for life.

“My journey continues to foster a profound sense of satisfaction through opportunities to support not only those within our organisation but the wider community,” Ms. Mackenzie said. “I have found spaces and connections within these areas that have touched my heart and my life both professionally and personally. It is an honour to live in a town that focuses on the importance of the well-being of others.”

“My life’s mission has been to assist those living with disability and mental health by providing them with access to all necessary supports and resources, enabling individuals to experience the full spectrum of life’s beauties and building on people’s skills and abilities to personally reach their own goals and life aspirations.”

Ms Mackenzie’s vision extends to the wider community and ensuring that the Murraylands continues to grow as a place of connection and support, reducing isolation and stigma related to mental health and disability.

“As part of this mission, effective leadership is crucial. By leveraging the skills and experiences of our staff, we can enhance our collective impact, supporting not only the individuals we serve but also fostering a collaborative and empowered work environment.”

“I truly appreciate the space that the team from SA Women Australia has created to celebrate and nominate individuals around our state,” Ms Mackenzie said. “The networking of community connections and sense of togetherness that this event has provided, is wonderful.”

With traditional award ceremonies highlighting a specific version of success, SA Woman Australia decided to highlight the achievements of more women through social media connection, showcasing and elevating the wonderful women in our communities doing magnificent things and, for longer than just one night.

SA Woman Australia’s SA Women to Watch in 2024, allowed women to put up their hand and say, “I am doing great things in my corner of the community”, without the focus on financial success, or business growth and without standing in front of a crowd of 500 to receive an award.

SA Woman Australia is fiercely proud of their award recipients over the years, and they want to share that incredible feeling of being recognised with as many women as possible.
